PIONEER HILL EVENTS IN 2009 BRING FAMILIES TO ENJOY PARK
Six outdoor events produced under the banner of “Pioneer Hill Sunset Series” brought hundreds of people to enjoy Sheridan Veterans Park during the summer of 2009. The events were evidence of community desire to enjoy the new park, from concerts to arts activities that drew people with picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs.
Pioneer Hill, which is a component of the park, features Boxley Cabin on its crest, and visitor attendance spiked during all activities. Donations were received by passing the hat. Underwriters for the year were: JBS United, Phillip and Connie Pearson, Craig Wallace, Bill and Ann Stone, Sheridan Historical Society and Vectren Energy.
