2007 Fireside Tales
Sheridan Fireside Tales 2007 Set For Sat., June 2: Biddle Memorial Park
Two storytellers, a sing-along and games for all ages will set the program for Sheridan Fireside Tales 2007 on June 2-but this year, look for an array of vividly colorful "magic carpets" to compliment the semi-circle of pinwheels always put in place to create the stage! The spreads, made with heavy-duty parachute material, will be a special surprise for families to stake out a favorite picnic spots and bring people closer to the action!
The venue will open in Biddle Memorial Park at 6 p.m. with music and games planned by Bob and Joyce Seymour. Bob Sander, master storyteller, will be joined on the program by Indianapolis-based guest storyteller, Sandra Harris, who will share a sunset tale at 7 p.m. she thinks Sheridan and its guests will enjoy: "Men and Women, How They Do Carry On!" Sander's story, always a mystery, will follow at 8 p.m.
Although sponsors are being contacted now, two special companies have agreed to join the festivity. Wal-Mart will serve as "presenting corporate sponsor," and Noblesville Daily Times will become "presenting media sponsor." Sheridan Fireside Tales remains an admission-free event thanks to all sponsors. Supporting sponsors who make the storytelling a real community celebration. The Sheridan Historical Society is especially grateful to Legacy Fund which assists with grants to help underwrite some event expenses. For more information: www.noblesvilledailytimes.com
