Leadership & Mission

Each year, new officers and board members are installed in January to serve for one calendar year. The Sheridan Historical Society begins the process to identify all candidates in October and the nominating committee proposes a slate in November. Voting takes place in December. Directors of the Board of Directors are selected for three-year rotating service periods.

Mission

The Sheridan Historical Society serves in stewardship of the community archive for the Town of Sheridan, maintaining local history awareness through the operation of a museum with pioneer collections, preparation and maintenance of genealogy records, leadership in historic and cultural preservation, and promotion of local history education.
